Mental Health and Mental Capacity Law
Jervier Solicitors, an established firm specialising in civil areas of law, is looking to expand our practice in Mental Health and Mental Capacity Law. We are a small, dynamic and friendly practice committed to listening and representing our clients, whether they are legally aided or self-funding. We are inviting enthusiastic and driven professionals to join our team.
Available Positions:
Mental Health – Consultant Solicitors /or non-qualified Accredited Panel Members
South/Southeast and Midlands and East procurement areas
- Knowledge and experience representing clients under various sections before Tribunals/hospital managers hearings.
- Ability to bring in own clients, but capacity to accept work from the firm.
- Excellent client care, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Solid understanding of Legal Aid Contract requirements.
- Full UK driving licence and own transport (desirable).
Mental Capacity – Consultant Solicitors or experienced fee earners
- Knowledgeable in law, organised and able to manage a heavy and mixed workload.
- Capacity to accept work from the firm.
- Ideal for a candidate looking to broaden their experience (a significant portion of our work is by instruction from the Official Solicitor on complex s16 cases).
- Opportunity to work towards ALR Accreditation
- Advocacy before Court of Protection is not essential
- Will consider candidates with varying degree of experience
Essential: Candidates must have the right to work in the UK and Panel Membership for Mental Health roles.
Additional Information:
- Remote working or office based (hybrid)
- Will consider newly accredited and qualified candidates for both roles
- Hours: Immediate start – Full-time consultants preferred, but part-time roles will be considered.
- Fee split: Competitive, Negotiable, with prompt payment by the firm.
